Running For A Great Cause

This year, Major League Baseball All-Star Weekend provided our Orange County division an opportunity to give back, Team-build and even get some marketing done all in 3.1 miles! With a couple friends from the Los Angeles Division, Orange County employees and their families were sponsored by Swinerton to participate in the All-Star Game Charity 5K & Fun Run. Many of us took part in the experience in memory of Orange County Project Manager Tom Teasdall. We also ran in support of SoCal Human Resources Representative Shurina Wilkins along with other friends and family who have battled breast cancer. Major League Baseball donated 100% of registration fees to four cancer charities: Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Prostate Cancer Foundation, Stand Up to Cancer and City of Hope. Over $200,000 was raised at this year’s All-Star Run; the amount was more than double the 2009 total raised last year in St. Louis. Thank you to everyone who came out to support and fly the Swinerton flag in our community!
